Those are the good ones off the top of my head (which aren't above PG-13), though aside from Wandering Son they're about women so if you meant gay as in gay men instead of gay in general they may not be what you're looking for. the TV, respectively) - no characters that are explicitly gay, but, well, there's a ton of (mutual) affection and chemistry between much of the cast.

That art style can be off-putting and the first three openings are cringe-worthy, but it's good. Maria-sama ga Miteru - it's Class S, but there are some gay characters who are out and one couple that's heavily implied. Noir - another older one and while nothing explicit is said about the two main characters, they're obviously more than just friends. She gets sucked into a set of duels to own the Rose Bride and to revolutionize the world. The main character decided that she would become a prince and help princesses because when she was little a prince saved her when she was utterly depressed. Revolutionary Girl Utena (and the move, Adolescence of Utena) - an oldy but a goody, though there's a ton of symbolism so it can get really dense or strange at times.

The only thing is that the anime covers a fraction of the manga and it just jumps right in with very little backstory so the first several episodes are really rough. Based on the manga of the same name, Kakegurui is an anime that currently has two seasons available to watch on Netflix. The series follows Yumeko Jabami, a transfer student to Hyakkaou Private Academy, a prestigious Japanese school where the social hierarchy is, curiously enough, determined by gambling. For secondary characters there's a transwoman and a gay boy, and I think one of the others is bi but nothing is ever stated one way or the other.

Aoi Hana (Sweet Blue Flowers) - it's a simple slice-of-life where the main characters are a teenage lesbian and her best friend from kindergarten who she lost contact with after moving to a different town.
